Who we Are

These extracts from our Statement of Purpose best describes. S.W.E.E. Inc.’s local ON-GROUND initiatives.

The not-for-profit community organisation, to be known as ‘South West Environmental Education Inc.’ has been formed with the following purposes in relation to its on-ground activities-:
1) To identify, with input from the local community, areas within the natural landscape of Sth West Victoria for assistance with on ground rehabilitation of habitat suitable for endemic flora and fauna. To be achieved through the production of educational material and technical support – including support with on ground works and related rehabilitation and revegetation projects.
2) To work cooperatively with government and non-government organisations in both securing funding and assisting with technical and educational support for the rehabilitation, preservation and restoration of flora and fauna habitat in Sth West Victoria nominated by members, with input from the local community, as being of intrinsic environmental worth.
3) To bring knowledge gained through the groups’ range of activities into the wider community through
educational material, information forums, community events and hosting related on ground activities.

Activities

SWEE Inc. has a weekly working bee at the Leywhollot -Fawthrop Lagoon Project site, bottom of Gawler St, on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30.  All equipment, and free work gloves, provided. Come along if you would like to assist. All welcome.

SWEE Inc. meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Portland Library Meeting rooms from 5:30pm. Depending on our program & Guest Speakers these alternates between the large and small Meeting rooms.
